BOARD OR COMMITTEE
VACANCIES AS OF April 17, 2012
BEAUTIFICATION ADVISORY BOARD
1 Regular Member - Ward 2
1 Alternate - Mayor
Members shall reside, work, or own property in the City and have a knowledge in landscaping, plants and beatification
2 Regular Members - Wards 3 & 6
2 Alternates - Mayor
Members shall reside, work, or own property in the City and knowledgeable in the area of bicycle and pedestrian patterns
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT 1 Regular Member - Ward 2
Members shall be either a resident of the City or own property in the City
1 Regular Member - Ward 3
1 Alternate - Mayor
Residents or individuals owning a business in the City shall receive primary consideration however, residency or business ownership shall not be required.
1 ‑ Owners or employees of firms specializing in environmental cleanup and remediation, specializing in environmental training or real estate professionals with experience in redevelopment.
‑ Experienced in field of vocational/technical training or have experience in teaching on academic level
CITIZENS POLICE REVIEW BOARD 1 Regular Member - Ward 6
Each member shall be a resident of the city, an American citizen, or resident alien of the United States.  Resident alien shall mean those persons who have continuously resided in this state for at least one year and six months in the county and can provide documentation from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services evidencing permanent residency status in the United States.  For the purpose of this division, a resident alien shall be considered a resident.  Members cannot be a convicted felon unless their civil rights have been restored.  Members must not be currently holding or running for political office in the city at any point during their term, if so, that member will be removed from the board.  At the time of appointment a member cannot knowingly have a relative employed with the Fort Myers Police Department, and the definition of relative for purposes of this section only with respect to a member of the  board means an individual who is related to that member as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister. 
1 Alternate - Mayor
Members of the board shall be residents of the City with experience or interest in the field of zoning or building control or the subject matter jurisdiction. Whenever possible, consist of an architect, business person, engineer, general contractor, subcontractor, and realtor.
FORT MYERS/LEE COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
2 Regular Members
1 - Resident residing within Enterprise Zone
1 - Insurance or Financial Representative
FORT MYERS TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL 5 Regular Members – Mayor and Wards 1, 2, 3, and 6
Each member shall be a resident of the city, be between 15 and 19 years of age, and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.75 or equivalent
4 Regular Members – Wards 2, 4, 5
2 Alternates - Mayor

Members shall reflect an interest in the history of the city, be representative of the diversity of the City, and when possible, be residents or own property in the City.
 
1 Alternate- Mayor
Members shall consist of members who are professionals selected from the disciplines of architecture, story, architectural history, planning, construction, land use law, archaeology, or other historic reservation related disciplines. Members shall be residents of the City, if possible.
LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY BOARD
2 Regular Members - Ward 6 and Mayor
3 At Large Members
Members shall be a resident, employed or own property within the city limits. The committee shall include members as follows:
 
1 - Citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency
1 - Citizen who represents employers in jurisdiction
1 - Cittizen who is actively engaged in banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing
1 - Citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing.
1 - Citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing.
1 Regular Member – Ward 4
2 Alternates - Mayor
Members shall reside in or maintain a business establishment in the City.
PLANNING BOARD
2 At Large Members
Professionals selected from the disciplines of landscape architecture, architecture, traffic planning, urban planning, environmental planning, civil engineering, legal, contracting, business, and real estate or other related disciplines. Members of the board shall be either residents in the City, own property in the City, own a business in the City, or work in the City.
PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE 1 Regular Member – Ward 2
Members shall be a resident of the city who has an interest or background in the arts. If not a resident, the member must work in the city or be a member of an arts board or committee in the city

Area of management and education
FORT MYERS TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL 2 Regular Members - Mayor and Ward 5
2 Alternates - Mayor
Members shall reflect knowledge in the area of management and education. Members shall either be resident of the city or own property in the city or community partnerships.
